INGREDIENTS

FOR THE RICE PUDDING
250 g short-grain rice pudding rice
1 liter whole milk, 3.8%
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
FOR TOPPING AND DECORATION
4 tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Berry compote or cherry compote to taste — ideally with whole berries and little syrup
6 FOODMONSTAS WAFER EYES, 22 mm or 35 mm, 2 per plate

PREPARATION

  1. Put the milk, sugar, vanilla extract and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the rice pudding rice and briefly bring it back to a boil.
  2. Reduce to low heat and let the rice gently swell for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally until it is soft and creamy.
  3. While the rice cooks, mix the cinnamon and sugar for the topping.
  4. Now build the FOODMONSTA. Spoon the warm rice pudding onto a plate and shape it — then choose one version.
CHOOSE A VERSION
ROUND BEAR MONSTA
Shape the rice pudding into a round face with a spoon. Add two small round portions of rice pudding at the top edge as ears. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over the face and ears. Place one cherry or a small dot of berry compote in the center as the nose. Arrange three small berries in a row underneath as the mouth.
WIDE MONSTER FACE
Spread the rice pudding flat and wide on the plate to create a broad, slightly angular face. Leave the edges loose and irregular. Add four small portions of rice pudding at the corners as horns or hair tufts. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over the lower cheek areas and corners. Add one cherry as the nose and three berries in a row as the mouth.
BERRY-EYED MONSTA
Shape the rice pudding into an oval face. Add two small rice portions at the top as pointed ears. Place one thick, firm dot of berry compote on each eye position — the dark compote forms the eye base. Sprinkle cinnamon over the cheeks and chin. Place one cherry in the center as the nose.
  1. FOODMONSTA STEP: Always add the FOODMONSTAS WAFER EYES (22 mm or 35 mm) only shortly before serving so the warmth and moisture of the rice pudding do not soften them.
