INGREDIENTS

FOR THE RICE PUDDING
250 g short-grain rice pudding rice
1 liter whole milk, 3.8%
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
FOR TOPPING AND DECORATION
4 tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Compote to taste — ideally with whole cherries or berries

PREPARATION

  1. Put the milk, sugar, vanilla extract and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the rice pudding rice and briefly bring it back to a boil.
  2. Reduce to low heat and let the rice gently swell for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally until it is soft and creamy.
  3. While the rice cooks, mix the cinnamon and sugar for the topping.
  4. Now build the FOODMONSTA dreams: spoon the warm rice pudding onto a plate, shape it gently and choose one figure.
CHOOSE A VERSION
RICE BEAR
Shape the rice pudding into a round face with a spoon. Add two small round portions at the top edge as ears. Place one cherry or a small thick dot of cherry compote on each eye position and use one cherry as the nose. Work sparingly so the compote does not run. Dust both cheeks lightly with cinnamon.
RICE TREE
Spread the rice pudding flat and wide on the plate like a round canvas. Use a small spoon to draw a fine cinnamon-sugar tree trunk and branches on the rice pudding. Place individual cherries from the compote along the branches as fruit or leaves.
RAIN CLOUD
Shape the rice pudding into a soft cloud mound with small bumps along the top. Spoon a few small, thick drops of cherry compote under the cloud, using very little syrup so they look like raindrops rather than a compote puddle. Sprinkle a cinnamon-sugar curve under the cloud as a smile.
